About CompSciComp

Built by a CS teacher, for CS teachers.

Justin May

Founder & Developer

Justin graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in Computer Science, bringing together two careers that have shaped CompSciComp: 6 years teaching High School Computer Science and 15 years as a professional Software Developer.

As the organizer of the Computer Science Competition at the Round Rock High School International UIL Invitational for several years, Justin saw firsthand how much students benefit from competitive programming — and how much work it takes to run an event well. CompSciComp was built to make that experience accessible to every CS classroom, without the travel or the logistics.

The platform has been used at Invitational, District, and Region level events since 2020, and now powers online competitions for schools across the region.

Why we built this

Accessible to every school

Not every school can send students to an in-person invitational. CompSciComp brings the competitive experience to your classroom, wherever you are.

Learning through competition

Real-time feedback and a live scoreboard push students to think harder, iterate faster, and learn from their mistakes in the moment.

Designed by a teacher

Every feature was shaped by real classroom experience. We know what teachers need and what students respond to, because we've been there.
